Catalyst 09 + Just One

October 08, 2009 @ 01:02 PM

ThreeAs I write this, I’m sitting in an orange chair in the middle of the social justice tent at Catalyst 09, where Nathan, Rachel and I are representing Trade as One.  We’ve already connected with 50+ churches who are interested in taking the Just One idea to their churches this Christmas season. And there’s still another 24 hours or so of Catalyst to go. Our good friend Francis Chan is speaking tonight, so hopefully we’ll be able to sneak away from our booth to hear him (please don’t steal anything).

We always love being here, and I’m convinced that there’s nothing else like it. Today I’ve written my name on a man in a white suit, held a monkey, shaken hands with a 7 foot mascot, and almost had our tent blown away by a Chick Fil-A helicopter. Only at Catalyst.

Hopefully today marks the beginning of some significant partnerships with churches who will use their spending power to bring restoration and redemption to people living in the desperation of extreme poverty.

If you’re interested in taking the Just One idea to your church, CLICK HERE for more information.

I’ve included a video of Nathan meeting the Maddy the monkey after the jump, because, come on, who doesn’t want to see Nathan meeting a monkey?
